As expected, today Amazon announced their new tablet called the Kindle Fire. As we reported earlier today, the Kindle Fire will cost $199, and will be available in November. When the Dolphin Browser was released for the iPhone I commented that: "Oddly, it is only available for the iPhone. It does not have a version that scales to the iPad’s large display where, I believe, it would find a welcome home by many users." well, the free Dolphin Browser HD for the iPad was released this week. The first major update for Microsoft's Windows Phone platform is due any day now. Winrumors.com says indications are that the day is this week Thursday (Sept. 15). This has an air of credibility given that Microsoft's BUILD conference takes place this week in Anaheim (Sept. 13-16). It would make sense to release the first public beta of Windows 8 for the desktop and Windows Phone 7.5 for smartphones.
