Scrappy outsider startup Unthink.com, which bills itself as the "anti-Facebook," is opening up its doors today, allowing in its first round of beta testers. The Tampa-based company with $2.5 million in funding from DouglasBay Capital sees itself as a more open, more honest form of social networking - one where its users are the owners of their data, and not the product being sold to advertisers.

YouTube has just become the next site to hop on the social commerce bandwagon with the announcement that they are launching a new feature called the Merch Store through which YouTube partners can offer merchandise directly from their channels.  The store will be rolled out over the coming weeks, starting with music partners.  Through the Merch Store, fans will be able to buy anything from digital downloads, concert tickets, meetups, t-shirts and more.
